Yamunanagar District

Yamunanagar was formed as a new district of Haryana on 16 October, 1989.

The district is bordered by Himachal Pradesh and the districts of Karnal, Kurukshetra and Ambala.

Dadupur, Kalesar Forest, Hathni Kund and Tajewala barrage. Another not to be missed place is the Ch Devi Lal Herbal Park are visiting places.

Yamunanagar town has many large industries in plywood, paper, sugar, metal and utensils sector.

Rewari District

Rewari became a district of Haryana on November 1, 1989.

Rewari is 82 km from the national capital, New Delhi on the Delhi-Jaipur National Highway NH8.

The total area of Rewari district is 1,559 sq km and its population is 6,23,000.

The second manufacturing plant of Hero Honda Motors Limited is situated in the Dharuhera Industrial Area.

Sirsa district has an area of 4,276 sq km and its population is 9,03,000.

It is bounded by the districts of Faridkot and Bhatinda of Punjab in the north and north east, district Ganganagar of Rajasthan in the west and south and Hissar district in the east.

Sirsa district is divided into 3 sub-divisions and 4 tehsils

On September 1, 1975, Sirsa and Dabwali tehsils of Hissar district were constituted into a separate Sirsa district with headquarters at Sirsa.

Mewat Districts

Mewat district was carved out from erstwhile Gurgaon and Faridabad districts, which came into existence on 4th April 2005 as the 20th district of Haryana.

Mewat district is situated between 26-degree and 30-degree North latitude and 76-degree and 78-degree East longitude

According to the Census of India 2001, the total population of Mewat district was 9,93,617 of which 46,122 (4.64%) lived in urban areas and the major chunk 9,47,495 (95.36%) of the population lived in rural areas.

The main occupation of the people of Mewat district is agriculture.

Panipat History

Panipat is situated on Shershah Suri Marg (now known as G.T. road - N.H.1.), 90 KM from Delhi.

The three sides of this Panipat touch other districts of Haryana - Karnal in the north, Jind in the west and Sonipat in the south.

Panipat borders Uttar Pradesh across Yamuna in the east.

Panipat was the part of District Karnal until October 31, 1989.

It was separated from Karnal, along with another subdivison, Assandh Tehsil.

When the District was re-formed on January 1, 1992, Assandh Tehsil was excluded.

Battle of Panipat

Three Battles:

  • The First Battle of Panipat (1526), between the Mughal Emperor Zahir ud-Din Muhammad Babur against the Delhi Sultan Ibrahim Lodi
  • The Second Battle of Panipat (1556), between the Mughal Akbar the Great against Adil Shah Suri and Hemu

In recent times it hasn't been very successful in the Ranji Trophy circuit.
